Fishing Reports

Logan River – water report

May 10, 2008

Since the Blacksmith was high and dirty, I figured the Logan would be too, so I didn’t take my fishing gear (thought I would just take photos, but forgot my camera at home—doh!).

The water is a little high and slightly off-color, but definitely fishable. Didn’t see any risers or fly activity at 3:00 near the Guinevah/Malibu campground.

Right Hand Fork (AKA Girl’s Camp or Camp LOMIA) looked clear and quite fishable (but I never see anyone except myself fish it—it’s our secret, don’t tell). Of course, the largest fish I’ve ever pulled out of there is probably about 12". But when the Logan is blown out, that’s a viable alternative if you have to fish.

Predicted warm weather this week should get the Logan much higher and dirtier. Best chance for fishing is Right Hand Fork, between 2nd and 1st Dams, or in the back water at 3rd Dam if the river is high and dirty.
