Fishing Reports

Logan River – Report

Saturday, March 29, 2008

Fished the Logan River just above 2nd Dam at 1:00. The action was very slow. No hatches. One 10" brown on a copper  nymph. Flows were perfect. Temps were cold. Wind was strong.

Moved above 3rd Dam at 2:00. Fished just above the bridge. There were risers in the slow water to the south of the main channel. They were just cruising sporadically. Dan caught one. I hooked into two, but couldn’t land.

I fished in the head of a pool in the main channel and caught a 13" cutt on a #20 BWO. While walking upriver and trailing my fly (BWO), I caught a 14" whitefish—go figure.

Dan caught three more on a BWO emerger farther up the main channel. I hooked into one more, but didn’t land.
