Not Fly Fishing

Stalking the Stalker

A little game for you.

Tuesday and Wednesday of this week I’ve been gone, roaming a little corner of the Rocky Mountains containing what some might call the Mecca of fly fishing in this area. I traveled a total of 1030 miles (Google claims 1006, but odometer says 1030) in 36 hours. These are the rivers I came in contact with, meaning I crossed over them or came within spitting distance of them (I could see them), during that time. You guess the two places I stopped. Some of the rivers/places are more famous than others, but some have been featured on my blog and so may factor into the picture since you know my love for them. No, that wasn’t a hint.

  3. Don’t have a clue where you went, but I find it hard to believe you by passed the Greys!

OR-you were on a bike trip and foolishly didn’t take a fly rod with you.

    • I fished the Greys for two days the week before and haven’t written a blog post on it. Yet. Maybe won’t. It was decent fishing, but missed the hook sets on the bigger fish. And, yes, I am “foolish” ;-0

      • I would have to guess that you headed up to Sturgis, but don’t think that it would fit into that little corner of the Rockies.

Missing the hookset on the bigger fish on the Greys beats not fishing it at all! Come on now-you know that the Greys is right at the top of my list of all time favorite places to fish.

        • Sturgis? No, too far. Did you check the link to the map? That should have the entire route.

I did think of you at least twice on the Greys when I chose to leave my camera in the truck instead of taking it on the river. Not a single fish pic taken during the 16+ hours fished. Pretty sad!

  4. Looked at your route on the map link-saw a lot spots you should have stopped at, if for nothing else than phot ops. Big Springs, Meaa Falls, etc.

Guess we’ll have to wait until you spill the beans.
