By popular demand (if you can call one request “popular”—this one is for you Harry—and who says I don’t listen to my peeps?), here are some photos from my second trip to “Chalkstream” (see
this post for more info) this past Wednesday and my first trip to “Bonneville Creek” this year. After clicking on a picture you will get more information about the shot.
Enjoy!

And as usual you came up with some very nice shots! Looks like you had a great time, but then any day spent fishing is good. Even better if you actually catch some!
Harry, Yes, always a good time. Actually, the switch from “Chalkstream” to “Bonneville Creek” was a bit frustrating at first. I fished through part of a section Dan had fished through four days before. The fish were extra skittish. And, as you can see in the photo, the casting was a pain after coming right from “Chalkstream” and I left a couple of flies in the trees and needed my mouth washed out with soap. But after the first half hour, I settled into the groove of things.
very nice montage scott!
Thanks Mike D!
good work behind the lens…and the stick!
Thanks Mike – every now and again I get lucky.
Nice montage of memories. Usually, I think of those “chalkstream”/spring creek trout as being extra spooky. Recall putting down fish at Poindexter Slough near Dillon with a line shadow even on cloudy days.
ER, Thanks! Yes, very spooky! I caught almost all of my Chalkstream fish with the across-and-down approach. If we tried any from straight below them, they were down and out for the count.
Very nice! Think I know where that chalkstream is…… but don’t worry I am 1500 miles away and won’t add to the pressure. I have a couple of suggestions for little creeks that may hold natives in the area of the chalkstream. Send me an email.
Kevin, Oh yes, you know right where it is!
