Hi Anthony! I already replied over at your place. Maudlin, melancholy and musings: I think you've found a new subtitle for my blog!

Scott great pictures and thoughts in this post and the previous (Summer's End). Autumn is my favorite time of year, for many reasons. Not least is that it allows me to indulge in some melancholia. You inspired me to write a little on the subject too. If you're interested check out my blog post "Autumn and Looking Back" for my maudlin musings.

Glad you liked them Brian. Some of us are out poking big fish with sharp hooks. And some of us are dinking around with cameras and pictures and stuff. I've got a couple of trouty pictures waiting to go up, but not many (I haven't fished in about 10 days--yikes!).

Alex, coming from a pro like you, I appreciate your comments. The first is my favorite also. I especially like the light popping off the edges of the leaves.

Thanks Bob. Yes, milkweed. That little Thoreau quote was from his post-humus piece, Faith in a Seed.

As usual Scott, great pics and a fine little essay! Is that milkweed? I'm a big fan of Thoreau - a very wise man. Tight lines...
