Fishing...?Burning Man...? hmmmm You know, I've fished a lot in my life, but I've never been to Burning Man (BM...go ahead, you supply the alternate expansion on that acronym). It's one of those things like seeing a cougar in the wild--I'd really like to experience it, but then again, not so close. I like to people watch, so BM might not be a bad alternative for, oh, about 60 minutes max. Then straight to the fishing.

I keep my cursing to a bare minimum and so does my fishing buddy, Dan. I can imagine that major cursing tantrums would be a downer. <del datetime="2009-07-18T02:29:09+00:00">In the end, it's just fishing</del>. (Did I just say that?)

Here's a choice: given a weekend of fishing or hanging out at Burning Man, which would you choose?

Seriously, swearing DEFINITELY helps. But it can get out of hand--I quit fishing with a guy who had a major conniption every time he missed a big fish on a nymph: negative vibes, man; negative vibes.

Missed hook sets and tangled line are my two biggest downfalls. People nearby probably think I have Tourettes.

Does mumbling under your breath, trying to coax the fish to eat, count? I add profanity when things don't work out in my favor, which is of course most all of the time. But at least people around me think I'm just crazy instead of crude.
