Not Fly Fishing

No News Is Good News

Cutthroat Stalker (and family) will be out of town, roughing it in Island Park, Idaho (that would be Henry’s Fork of the Snake River), until Sunday. Trip report/photos later.

Day 1 of the Desert Native Fishing series should be available late Sunday/early Monday.

Wish me luck on the Harriman Ranch, also known as the Railroad Ranch (also known by me as one of the toughest places I ever fish, or, affectionately known as !%$#@ Ranch).

    • Great pics indeed, but not the kind I wish I had. This report will be some time in the making since I have my four days of the Desert Natives to write, this Henry’s one, and then I’ll be spending three days fishing the Greys River in Wyoming this coming Tuesday through Thursday. So we’re looking at a couple of weeks.

      • The Greys! Nice choice. You should have it timed just right this year too with the water. Wish I could get to that side of the state a little more often.

        • The Greys is probably my all-time favorite river to fish. Beautiful! Native fine-spotted cutts. Close to home (3 1/2 hours). No fishing pressure. I used to go there about three times a summer for about three days each time and would see maybe two other fishermen on the entire 40 miles of river. But… I just looked at the cfs and it looks a little high–1130 cfs. So we might hit the Smiths Fork instead. I’ve never fished it and it has been on the “to do” list for some time now. Maybe the upper LaBarge as well? We’ll see and I’ll get a report out later. It also looks like we’re down to 2 days instead of 3.
