I’m glad to hear from you!

Unfortunately it was a little too late in the morning for you in the east–it would have been too bright to see Venus.

I was hoping for the “after” picture as well, with Venus coming out of the other side of the moon, but by then it was too bight here too.

Listen up smarty-pants, what's the most recent thing on your blog? Yeah, that's what I thought! You'll be thankful I'm doing a bit of jogging now so you don't have to haul me 20 miles out of some god-forsaken, backwoods, desert-bound creek this summer. (I know, I know, you wouldn't haul me out. I just lucked on it because the morning before I saw that the moon was half way between Mars and Venus. So I kept my eye out for it the next morning. I haven’t been keeping up on astronomy stuff as I used to in the past. So many things, so little time…

Stellar picture…. I love it. Wish I had gotten up to look had I been paying attention to the astronomy forecasts. I slept through the Lyrids too.
